A Leap of Faith That Became a Calling
If there's one thing I've learned over the years, it's that the most meaningful moments in life are rarely the ones we can plan for. They're the hugs that last a little longer. The laughter that catches everyone off guard. The tears that show up when you least expect them. The quiet moments in between that often become the ones you remember most.
Years ago, I was working in insurance sales, but deep down I knew I was being called somewhere else. One day, I finally took the leap. I walked into my boss's office, quit my job, called my husband, who was deployed in Afghanistan at the time, and told him I'd just done something a little crazy.
Then I bought my first camera.
What started as a leap of faith quickly became so much more than a career. It became an opportunity to serve couples during one of the most meaningful days of their lives.
Over the years, life has taught me just how quickly moments become memories. That's why I'm so passionate about helping my couples slow down, soak it all in, and truly enjoy the people surrounding them. Because the photographs become even more meaningful when you actually get to experience the moments that are being captured.
If we've just met, there's a good chance you're worried about being in front of the camera. Almost every couple tells me the same thing.
My job isn't just to create beautiful photographs.
It's to help you feel comfortable enough to forget the camera is even there.
I'll gently guide you when you need direction, step back when the moment deserves space, and probably crack a joke or two along the way. I love celebrating right alongside my couples, chasing the energy when the dance floor fills up, and quietly stepping back when a moment deserves room to unfold on its own.
By the end of the day, I hope you'll remember more than just your photographs. I hope you'll remember how your wedding felt.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of photographing weddings across Minnesota alongside incredibly talented planners and creative teams. But whether your celebration is an intimate gathering or a ballroom filled with hundreds of your favorite people, my goal has never changed.
I want you to be fully present for one of the most meaningful days of your life.
Every wedding has its own rhythm…
If it's loud...
I lean into the joy.
If it's quiet...
I protect the quiet.
If it's emotional...
I don't interrupt it.
If it's goofy...
I become part of it.
My job isn't to change the atmosphere.
It's to help you be fully present in it.

Client Testimonial
“Leah (and team) photographed our wedding and we STILL have such fond memories of working with her! She exudes this amazing light and joy from the moment we met her. Her excellent communication and attention to even the tiniest detail truly sets her apart from other photographers. Both my husband and I are not fans of being in front of the camera, but Leah made it all so comfortable and FUN for both our engagement session and wedding day! Her style gave us such an array of photos from our special day…including the super funny candid ones we still laugh about, the serious photos, and those precious moments with loved ones who are no longer here on earth, we love them ALL. I still have memories as a stressed bride, how Leah made sure to be the calm one through it all. Looking back there will always be things you think that could be done differently with your wedding, but I would NOT have changed going with Leah for our special day!”
